I love this line from your article: "my self-care practices aren’t supporting what I need to function well."
100% true!
I'm a personal trainer, and the majority of my clients are menopausal women. They often seek out the "metabolism booster" (which, outside of a thyroid normalizer... if it needs to be normalized) is not a thing.
A lot of them try to find the secret bullet, when the basics aren't even addressed:
- Sleep
- Exercise
- Nutrition
- Stress management
Just addressing those 4 basic things will fix over 80% of the problems women have during menopause. And for a lot of women, they don't need to go much beyond those anyway.
But great message - blame your self-care routine (something you CAN control), rather than your age (something you can't control).
